Gorilla safaris in Rwanda

Rwanda is also known as a country of thousand Hills. This is a home to the endangered mountain Gorillas, inhabited in the Volcanoes National park, also known as Parc des Volcano.  Apart from gorilla tracking, other tour activities in the area include cultural / village walks to nearby Kinyarwanda cultural villages, Karisimbi and Vishoke Volcano hiking, Dian Fossey Grave Yard hike, Bird watching, and Golden Monkey trekking and nature walk to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo among others.

Volcanoes National park is just 2-3hours drive from Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. The park has a wide variety of accommodation lodges and hotels, ranging from Budget lodges, Mid class / deluxe to Luxury/high end lodges and hotels. Gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda

Uganda, also known as the “Pearl of Africa”, is another home to 360 mountain gorillas in Africa, found in the impenetrable forests of Bwindi national park, and Mgahinga Gorilla Park. Other tour activities include Batwa cultural walk, Golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga Forest, Nature walk to waterfalls and excellent bird watching.

The park is 4-5 hours drive from Kigali (Rwanda) southern Bwindi, and 8-10 hours drive from Kampala, Uganda’s Capital, 3-4 hours from Queen Elizabeth National park and 7hours from Kibale primates Forest.
Accommodation is available at all levels, they include Buhoma Community Rest camp, Bwindi View bandas, Kitandara Lodge, Silverback Lodge, Gorillas Forest Camp and many more.

 

Congo Gorilla safaris

The Democratic Republic of Congo is blessed with Mountain gorillas in the Virunga National park, Western and Eastern Low land gorillas. This is the ONLY destination in the world with bonobos.  Though the country is historically known for some political instability, it is now very safe and open for tourists from any part of the world.  The major challenge to Congo Gorilla Safaris is insufficient accommodation lodges near parks. Our clients usually stay for overnight in Kisoro town, western Uganda just near Congo Boarder. After gorilla tracking, we drive back to Uganda or Rwanda.
